Fishing guidelines

These simple guidelines help support sustainable fishing and protect the quality of the lakes.

Please show your catch at checkout for fish registration.
This helps monitor the lake’s health and supports sustainable fishing practices.
To help maintain a thriving fish population, larger fish must be released back into the lake.
Travel

Road & travel tips

Plan your drive in with the road conditions in mind.

The road leading to the outfitter can be long and rugged.
A truck or SUV is strongly recommended for a smoother ride.
If you are hauling a boat or trailer, that is fine — just take your time and drive cautiously.
If travelling by car, please drive cautiously for a safe and comfortable trip.
Food

European plan

Keep meal planning simple before you arrive.

The outfitter operates on a European plan.
Guests are responsible for bringing their own food.
Zone 12

Hunting & fishing licences

Make sure your licences are ready before your trip.

All hunters and anglers must have a valid Quebec licence before participating in activities at Forant Lake Outfitter in Zone 12.
Fishing licence: required for all anglers.
Hunting licence: species-specific permits are required, including for black bear, moose, and deer.
Licences should be purchased online before arrival using Québec’s hunting and fishing portal.
